About the job

In this job you will play a central role in Gram Equipment's move towards environmental sustainability. Our stated purpose is “We strive to be the world’s best provider of sustainable ice cream equipment and services.” For us this means, supporting the decarbonization of the ice cream business, by developing equipment and services solutions that reduces the environmental footprint for each ice cream produced. Your primary task will be to develop a system to measure current emissions, a fundamental first step on this journey. We are looking for the right candidate to take on this important role.

Gram Equipment aims to create a solid foundation for its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This strategy involves establishing a baseline for emissions and setting targets in line with the Paris Agreement.

We are seeking an Engineer to take charge of collecting data and creating calculation models for a crucial project. The goal is to fulfill reporting obligations across all GHG protocol categories related to our products. Once future reduction targets are determined, the chosen candidate will also play a key role in identifying and assessing opportunities for emission reduction. This will involve collaborating closely with colleagues in the engineering department to implement reduction initiatives. As a part of our Engineering department, you will report directly to the Head of Global Engineering. Additionally, you will maintain close collaboration with various groups including ESG, Finance, and procurement functions.

You will be part of a very dynamic environment with a lot of opportunities to develop carbon footprint data and reporting frameworks while setting the ambitions for the function. The role is a very hands-on operational role where you will be responsible for collecting and controlling product-related data, hence you will need to thrive with a versatile role.

Your responsibilities and task will include:

  • Development of data collection frameworks.
  • Development of calculation models for use phase emissions.
  • Coordinate activities related to carbon footprint reporting.
  • Work with the basis for the preparation of Life Cycle Assessment. Experience working with the PEF framework will be seen as an advantage.
  • Supporting the implementation of CSRD ESRS E1 (Climate Change), ESRS E4 (Biodiversity) and ESRS E5 (Circular Economy).
  • Facilitate and support the development and updating of procedures and policies within the carbon footprint and greenhouse gas reduction area.
  • Overview of legislation and standards in relation to environment and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement sustainable practices and initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on progress towards Gram Equipment greenhouse reduction targets.
  • Ongoing assessment of options for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the reduction targets.
  • Contribute to the selection and implementation of necessary software.
  • Develop and maintain various policies within the area.

About you

As an Environmental Engineer at Gram Equipment, it would be preferable if:

  • You have experience working with the GHG protocol.
  • Knowledge of Science Based Target and Scope 1-3 emission reporting.
  • You have experience within carbon footprint reporting and energy optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing carbon footprint reporting.
  • Practical experience in developing greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies.
  • You have strong analytical skills and the ability to perform comprehensive analysis of greenhouse gas data (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • You are a skilled project manager with desire and energy to take the lead and have an ability to think across the organization. But you are also not afraid of getting soil under your nails.
  • You have a solid business understanding combined with technical and design knowledge.
  • You possess good communication skills and manage to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passionate about sustainability and the green transition and can create positive changes.
  • You are loyal, trustworthy, and aware of responsibility, take pride in leading the way and have an extremely professional and visible appearance.
  • You can work independently in a structured manner but are also outgoing and have good social skills.
  • You are skilled at forming new relationships and use a listening and curious approach in your daily project management.
  • Strong and engaging communicator and ability to interact at all levels in an international organization.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Naturally curious and looking to challenge status quo and existing ways of working.
  • Communicates fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Holds a master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
